Introduction to Photography

During Photo Camp I, students will learn how to use basic manual settings of the DSLR camera such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO. There will be lots of opportunities throughout the week to practice using manual and semi manual modes to understand the basic foundational concepts of photography.


Photo Camp II

Intermediate Level Photographers

Students who have completed Photo Camp I or have a basic understanding of manual settings of the camera and some experience with photography are welcomed to join for this week! Students will learn more about compositional theories of photography, light manipulation and dive into more post processing skill work. Through continued refinement of technical skills, students will be more prepared to create the photographs they envision with a combination of camera capture and post processing.


Photo Camp III

August 5 - 9, 2019

Advanced Level Photographers

This week is focused on conceptualizing a strong artistic voice and being able to create a cohesive body of work through consistency, technical skills, strong composition, conception, planning and execution of each student’s vision. During this week students will create an individual portfolio exhibiting a strong cohesive body of work with a heavy focus on post processing and photo editing in the digital darkroom. Students will dive into photo editing software and create a digital portfolio ready for print or publication.
